The Arizona Snowbowl is the cool place to escape the summer heat...

At a base elevation of 9,500 feet, we are up to 40° cooler than most Arizona deserts. So instead of enduring 115° days in Phoenix, why not enjoy 75° days here?

And there’s lots to do for those who are outdoor-oriented. Take our Scenic Skyride, hike the San Francisco Peaks, or enjoy a leisurely stroll or mountain bike through the largest contiguous stand of Ponderosa pine trees in the world. We also have a fabulous high-altitude disc golf course, which was one of the host courses for the 2005 World Amateur Disc Golf Championships.

Late September through mid-October — when the aspens turn color — is truly spectacular here. From atop the Snowbowl, you can view the green, gold, and orange leaves lies below you… and know that winter is on the way!

You can lunch at the Peak Side Cafe at Agassiz Lodge, which features a deli-style menu, and hear live music on Saturday afternoons; it’s not your typical ski area food. The main level of the lodge features informational displays about the San Francisco Peaks and the Ski Area.
